New and improved TurboCAD Platinum
TurboCAD 2022 Platinum includes more than two dozen new and improved features and is highlighted by a new Physical-Based Rendering (PBR) engine, TurboLux™. The Platinum version has a strong focus on visualization, 3D modeling and architectural enhancements.
Rendering and Visualization:
TurboLux™
TurboLux™ is a state-of-the-art rendering technology that uses physics-based rendering (PBR) techniques. PBR models light and materials based on physical laws and accurately simulates light flow, resulting in stunning photographic-quality images. Support for PBR-compatible materials for TurboCAD is included in version 2022, with over 800 fully editable TurboLux™ materials in the TurboCAD materials palette. PBR materials extend traditional color mapping to include normal, metallic, roughness and height maps. Combined with shaders for matte, gloss, glass, automotive paint, and metal, these new materials make renderings look more realistic by simulating real-world imperfections such as scratches, roughness, stains, or noise.
TurboLux™ - Heterogeneous Computing:
TurboLux™ uses OpenCL and/or CUDA to run on any number of CPUs or Nvidia-based GPUs available on your computer. This highly optimized rendering layer provides performance that scales nearly linearly with the number of computing devices available. With this powerful device layer, TurboLux™ gets the most out of your computer's available hardware, resulting in faster, high-quality rendered images.
TurboLux™ - Noise Reduction:
As a progressive-based rendering engine, TurboLux™ samples pixels to provide a final rendering solution. Sometimes this sampling process can produce fireflies or unlit pixels. Using a denoiser is one way to remove these artifacts to accelerate progress towards a final, higher quality rendered solution in a dramatically shortened timeframe.
TurboLux™ - Caustics:
This is an optical phenomenon where light shines through typically glass or water materials, only to be reflected and refracted into additional light rays of different wavelengths and colors. TurboLux™ supports advanced caustics by providing bidirectional path tracking to track light not only from the camera, but also from the lamps in your scene to render the complex lighting scenes. This is especially beneficial in interior design.
TurboLux™ - Materials:
TurboLux™ with a library of over 800 fully editable materials, including a new gemstone category and an expanded metal category.
Visualize - Section Plane:
Dynamic Section Plane has been implemented for Visualize Render. Three predefined section planes (XY, YZ, XZ) have been added to the Drawing Setup and Dynamic Section Plane options. The ability to hatch section contours has also been added to the Drawing Setup dynamic section plane options. Users can now also use the dynamic section plane in design rendering. The 3 new section planes (XY, YZ, XZ) make it easier to define the specific plane for the dynamic section. The settings added to the Drawing Settings window help the user select different fill pattern styles for the section plane.
Visualize - Auto Refresh Current View:
A new Auto Refresh Current View option has been added to the Design Renderer in the Camera Properties. When this option is enabled, changes to the dialog parameters are immediately applied to the active window. Previously, the changes were applied only when the user clicked the "OK" button after selecting the options. However, with this new option, the user can get immediate results when selecting/deselecting different options even before clicking the "OK" button.
Visualize - Visual Styles settings:
Visual Styles settings have been added to the named views. New visual styles for rendering designs have been added to camera properties -, X-Ray, Conceptual, Shades of Gray.
Visualize - Advanced Camera Parameters:
A new set of advanced parameters has been added to the Design Rendering page of Camera Properties. These parameters are available for 3 visual style modes, i.e. X-Ray, Conceptual and Shades of Gray. Each visual style has its own set of parameters. When you change the parameters, you can switch between the different styles. Advanced parameters include Edge Mode, Face Mode, and Color settings.
3D Design and Modeling with TurboCAD® 2022 Platinum
Associative Sections:
A new local menu option "Associative Sections" has been added to the Section tool. When this option is enabled, the created section curves are associated with the 3D objects. That is, as the intersecting objects move, the intersection curves are updated accordingly.
Associative cuts:
Two new local menu options "2D cut by closed polyline" and "Associative cut" have been added to the Cut tool. When the "Associative cut" option is enabled, the created cut is associated with the cut polyline and the 3D object. This means that when changes are made to the associated polyline or 3D object, the created section is also changed.
Surface on Surface: New Offset option:
A new local menu option "Offset" has been added to the Surface on Surface tool. This defines the offset of the surface to the object. When creating the surface, the user has the option to create it with a positive or negative offset to the initial object.
Architectural with TurboCAD® 2022 Platinum
AEC Radial Grid:
A new AEC "Radial Grid" has been added to the architectural menu. This radial grid is a new tool that facilitates the alignment of other radial architectural objects in the drawing, such as curved walls and columns.
Support for slab edge styles:
A new Slab Edge Styles category has been added to the Style Manager. Now users can edit slab edge styles using a new edit mode. Edge styles allow you to specify dimensions, such as the overhang length, as well as the orientation and angle of the edges. With this new feature, it is now possible to edit the slab edge style by enabling the Edge Style option in Edit Mode.
AEC grids Retain label value:
A new property "Retain label value" has been added to the AEC grids. The new option allows you to save the axis name without changing it, regardless of the order of the axes in the grid. When this option is enabled, the user can automatically move the axis to any position without renaming it.
Wall/Window/Door tools improvement:
A new local menu option "Anchor to AEC grid" has been added to walls, windows and doors. When this option is enabled, the ends of the architectural object are anchored to the AEC grid. The end position of the object changes according to the edits made to the AEC grid.
Roof Enhancement:
A new local menu option "Overhang" has been added to the roof tools. The user can now edit overhangs for each side of the roof.
TurboCAD® 2022 Platinum offers performance, user interface and ease of use:
Undo Manager Palette:
A newpalette "Undo Manager Palette" has been added to the list of palettes. The palette displays all the steps performed and allows the user to switch back and forth between them. The breakdown of steps allows the user to switch from one drawing state to another with a single click, bypassing intermediate states.
Render Studio enhancement:
Render Studio enhancements include support for user interface scaling and updates to the Advanced Render dialog box.
Drawing and Program Search Option:
A new search bar has been added to the Program Setup and Drawing Setup dialog boxes, allowing users to find the various options in each dialog box. The search bar makes it easier for users to find various options available in the Drawing Setup or Program Setup dialog boxes instead of searching for them manually.
Keyboard Report Enhancement:
Several enhancements have been made to the Keyboard Report. Highlighting of lines when hovering over them with the mouse, description of local menus and command icons for Standard (dark) and Classic (light) themes have been added to the report.
Selector - New Keep Size option:
A new Keep Size option has been added to the local menu of the 2D and 3D selector. When this option is enabled, the distances between the selected objects are scaled without scaling the objects themselves, i.e. their size is not changed.
Program Settings, Preferences - New Highlight Selection in Rendering option :
A new Highlight Selection in Renderings option has been added to the Program Setup preferences. This option allows the user to disable drawing of the selected objects in all camera modes except GDI modes (WireframeNative Wireframe and Hidden LineHidden Line). Enabling this option can reduce rendering time and allow more accurate selection of objects to be rendered.
TurboCAD Content Server Palette:
This new palette, linked to the new TurboCAD Content Server, provides users with online access to hundreds of thousands of different CAD and graphics content that can then be easily dragged and dropped into your TurboCAD drawing. Currently, the palette can access more than 700,000 mechanical parametric parts. These symbols fully support international standards such as DIN, KR, ISO, ANSI and ASME. Over time, more content, including house plans, architectural details and materials, will be added to the server, making it accessible through the TurboCAD Content Server palette.
Draw and edit 2D with TurboCAD® 2022 Platinum
Abilityto interrupt wireframe GDI drawing:
TurboCAD now provides the ability to interrupt native GDI drawing by pressing the Esc key. This is very helpful when editing a large drawing. Without this interruption option, the user previously had to wait for the GDI drawing to finish after each action. A progress indicator has also been added.
Smart Dimension Tool Improvement:
The smart dimension tool is now fully associative between model space and paper space. Changes made to a smart dimension in model space are automatically updated in any viewport in paper space that contains that smart dimension.
